How does AI help catch missed fractures in the ED?
On every radiograph, the AI is a second read that never tires. An independent hospital benchmark compared three commercial solutions in the ED: TechCare Alert posted the highest diagnostic accuracy of the three in fracture detection, 90.1% versus 88.8% and 71.0% (Academic Radiology, 2023). In an ED study combining MSK and chest detection (European Journal of Radiology Open, 2023, 1,772 patients), the AI reaches an overall AUC of 0.954; on the cases an emergency physician had misread, nearly one in ten, it catches 90% of them. How does AI prioritize the worklist?
